The basics
What Aira is, and who it's for.
One screening that uses MRI to look across multiple regions of your body, including the brain, spine, abdomen and liver, for important findings, where detectable, across 300+ conditions and findings. Every plan also includes a simple-language report and consultations to help you understand it. What we screen
Aira is designed for adults approximately 30 to 60 years old who want a broader, proactive view of their health, including those who already have regular blood tests and are interested in understanding their health more comprehensively.
No screening can guarantee early detection of every condition. Aira's Whole Body MRI based protocol may help identify important findings, where detectable, across 300+ conditions and findings, as part of a broader approach to proactive health awareness.
Safety & technology
How MRI works, and how it fits with blood tests.
The MRI component of Aira's screening protocol does not use ionizing radiation. It uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of the body's anatomy and soft tissue.
MRI uses a strong magnetic field and harmless radio waves. The magnet lines up the hydrogen in your body's water and fat, radio pulses briefly nudge it, and the faint signals given off as it settles are turned into detailed images. No X-rays or ionizing radiation are involved in the MRI component.
Blood tests provide valuable information about biochemical and metabolic health. Whole Body MRI adds information about anatomy and structure that blood tests cannot provide on their own. They are complementary, not competing, sources of information. The science
No. Blood tests and Whole Body MRI provide different kinds of information and complement each other: blood tests show biochemical and metabolic health, while MRI shows anatomy and structure. Aira Plus and Aira Complete include a blood assessment alongside the screening.
Yes. The CT Calcium Score is a separate heart health assessment that uses a CT scan, which involves a low dose of X-ray radiation. The Whole Body MRI component uses none. Your Life Coach and doctor can explain whether it is right for you.
Tell your Life Coach before booking. Many implants are MRI-safe, but some devices are not, and pregnancy always needs a conversation first. The imaging centre also completes a safety check before every scan.
Your scan day
Preparing, the scan itself, and what to bring.
A typical Whole Body MRI scan takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes. You lie still on a padded table while the scanner works. It makes rhythmic knocking sounds, so ear protection is provided, and the team can talk with you throughout.
Your Aira Life Coach shares simple preparation guidance ahead of your appointment. Most people don't need to change much about their day.
Just yourself and any past reports you'd like your radiologist or doctor to be aware of. Your Life Coach will confirm anything specific to your appointment.
Let your Life Coach know when you book. They can talk you through what to expect, and the centre team stays in contact with you for the whole scan. You can ask to pause at any time.
Your report & consultations
What you receive, and who explains it.
Every plan starts with a Whole Body MRI based health screening and includes a simple-language report, a radiologist explanation, a doctor consultation and a nutritionist consultation. The interpretation and guidance are never an add-on.
It's a patient-friendly report of 20 or more pages, with the final length based on your findings. It's written in simple language, so you can understand your results without decoding medical terminology. The Aira Report
Every scan is reviewed by experienced radiologists, and your results are compiled into a clear, jargon-free report. Every plan includes a radiologist explanation of your findings, followed by a doctor consultation and a nutritionist consultation.
Your Aira Life Coach helps you schedule your radiologist explanation, doctor consultation and nutritionist consultation, so you leave with a plan, not just a report.
