The spine that
carries you.

Spine & musculoskeletal screening is part of every Aira Whole Body MRI based health checkup. It assesses spinal alignment, discs and joint structures, giving you a structural baseline alongside the rest of your results.

Spine imaging is part of every Aira Whole Body MRI

  • No radiation

Magnetic fields and radio waves, not ionising radiation

  • Radiologist-reviewed

Every scan read by experienced radiologists

  • Explained in plain language

What we look at, inside.

Within the validated Aira protocol, a radiologist reviews your spine, discs and joints for important findings, where detectable.

  • 1

    Spinal alignment

The line and curve of your spine, recorded as a structural baseline.

  • 2

    Discs

May help identify disc-related findings, such as herniation, where detectable.

  • 3

    Base of the spine

Where the spine meets the pelvis, reviewed as part of the same scan.

  • 4

    Joint structures

Joint and mobility-related findings, where detectable within the protocol.

What a scan can show varies from person to person. Aira is a screening, not a diagnosis. Your doctor explains any finding and the next steps.

Desk-bound days add up.

Spinal and musculoskeletal health quietly compounds over years, especially for desk-bound professionals. Understanding your spine is part of understanding your whole body.

  • The desk-job effect

Prolonged sitting or desk-based work is one of the most common everyday risk factors.

  • Posture & lifestyle

Poor posture and a sedentary lifestyle contribute over time.

  • Heavy lifting

Repetitive heavy lifting can add mechanical strain on the spine.

  • Age-related change

Natural disc change is a normal part of ageing, and worth understanding.

Your blood test is one layer. Aira adds another.

Disc and spine health is mainly a structural question, one that blood tests aren’t designed to answer. Whole Body MRI adds the anatomical detail that complements your existing health checks.

Different tests. Different information. One broader picture.

Questions about spine screening

Yes. Spine and joint imaging is included within every Aira Whole Body MRI based health checkup, alongside the brain, chest, abdomen and pelvis, in a single visit.

It may help identify disc herniation-related findings, where detectable within the protocol. It is a screening, not a diagnosis. Your doctor explains any finding and the next steps, with a specialist referral where relevant.

A screening can add a structural baseline and context. For ongoing pain, it is still worth seeing a doctor, who may recommend a dedicated examination or tests.

No ionising radiation. MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves, and in most cases there are no injections or contrast agents.

A typical Whole Body MRI takes about 45 to 60 minutes. You lie comfortably in an open-bore scanner while the imaging is completed.

No. Aira is a screening for people who feel well. Sudden weakness or numbness in the legs, loss of bladder or bowel control, or severe pain after a fall or injury needs urgent care now. Please call 112 or go to the nearest hospital.
