Your heart,
in full view.

Cardiovascular screening is part of every Aira Whole Body MRI based health checkup. It looks at structural and vascular findings relevant to long-term heart health, with an optional CT Calcium Score in Aira Complete.

  • Included in every plan

Heart and vessel imaging is part of every Aira Whole Body MRI

  • Add a CT Calcium Score

    Included in Aira Complete

  • Radiologist-reviewed

Every scan read by experienced radiologists

  • Explained in plain language

A clear report, then a doctor to talk it through

What we look at, inside.

Within the validated Aira protocol, a radiologist reviews the heart and major vessels for important findings, where detectable.

  • 1

    Heart structure

Structural findings relevant to long-term heart health, where detectable.

  • 2

    Major blood vessels

Vascular findings in the large vessels of the chest and abdomen, where detectable.

  • 3

    Coronary calcium

Aira Complete adds a CT Calcium Score: a measure of calcium in the heart’s arteries, used for cardiovascular risk assessment.

  • 4

    Circulation in context

Read alongside brain and abdominal findings from the same scan, for one connected picture.

What a scan can show varies from person to person. Aira is a screening, not a diagnosis. Your doctor explains any finding and the next steps.

Your heart keeps count for years.

Heart and vessel changes build up gradually, often without symptoms. Awareness, not alarm, is the first step. A closer look is especially relevant if any of these sound familiar.

  • High blood pressure

Long-standing high blood pressure is associated with changes in vessel walls over time.

  • Diabetes or high cholesterol

Both are closely linked to vascular risk and contribute to vessel changes over time.

  • Smoking history

A well-recognised risk factor for vascular findings, including past smoking.

  • Sedentary lifestyle

Limited activity is one of the more modifiable risk factors for heart health.

  • Age 45 and over

Risk naturally rises with age, so awareness becomes more useful each year.

Your blood test is one layer. Aira adds another.

Blood tests can flag cholesterol and blood sugar trends. Whole Body MRI adds a structural view of the heart and major vessels that blood work can’t give on its own.

Different tests. Different information. One broader picture.

Questions about heart screening

Yes. Heart and major-vessel imaging is part of every Aira Whole Body MRI based health checkup. Aira Complete also adds a CT Calcium Score heart health assessment.

A CT scan that measures calcium in the arteries of the heart. It is used for cardiovascular risk assessment, alongside your other findings and risk factors.

The MRI uses no ionising radiation. The CT Calcium Score in Aira Complete is a CT scan, so it does involve a small radiation dose. Your care team can talk it through with you.

No. Aira complements, and does not replace, tests your doctor may recommend, such as an ECG or a stress test. If something needs a closer look, your doctor will guide the next step.

A typical Whole Body MRI takes about 45 to 60 minutes. You lie comfortably in an open-bore scanner while the imaging is completed.

No. Aira is a screening for people who feel well. Chest pain or pressure, sudden breathlessness, or pain spreading to the arm, jaw or back needs emergency care now. Please call 112 or go to the nearest hospital.
